You are also free to choose any\nmedium to communicate what you have learned (except for PowerPoint\/Google\nSlides\/Prezi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;First, you\nwill need to brainstorm to determine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What is the most important thing you have learned?<\/li><li>Who do you want to communicate with?<\/li><li>What medium can you use that will be effective?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I have provided templates that you can use through the &#8220;Final Assignment Overview&#8221; link above, which also provides a video describing the parameters. You may use the Coggle templates, or you can brainstorm using OneNote, pen &amp; paper, or some other tool. How you brainstorm is up to you, but I will want to see evidence that you have completed the brainstorming step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Turn in your Brainstorming step in your Personal\nsection of OneNote.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After determining\nthe &#8220;What,&#8221; &#8220;Who,&#8221; and &#8220;How,&#8221; craft your\ncommunication. You will need to have your final communication available for the\nclass to view and peer review no later than <strong>Thursday,\nAugust 15 at 1800 hrs (6:00 pm)<\/strong>. This is a hard deadline due to give\neveryone enough time to complete the peer review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your communication\nshould include all of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The most important thing that your target population should understand about what you learned<\/li><li>Specific ideas that you learned from this course based on your individual work, assigned readings, and lecture<\/li><li>Reference to the skills associated with the Course Outcomes (<strong>Welcome &gt; Syllabus<\/strong>)<\/li><li>Reference to the <a href=\"onenote:5%20Cs%20of%20Historical%20Thinking.one#Five%20Cs&amp;section-id={37559674-2DEE-4B29-96EC-9559FEC069F4}&amp;page-id={13149D19-6565-414C-85BA-9803A7A31AFD}&amp;end&amp;base-path=https:\/\/mynhcc-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/yq9599dj_nhcc_edu\/Documents\/Class%20Notebooks\/HIST%201990-01%20Intro%20to%20History\/_Content%20Library\">5 Cs of Historical Thinking<\/a> (also explained under <strong>Welcome &gt; Unit 0 &gt; 5 Cs of Historical Thinking<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Turn in your Communication in the <\/strong><a href=\"onenote:_Collaboration%20Space\\Final%20Project%20Peer%20Review.one#section-id={E5E9540B-DCEE-468D-99BC-F9AB44CEF691}&amp;end&amp;base-path=https:\/\/mnscu-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/yq9599dj_minnstate_edu\/Documents\/Class%20Notebooks\/Su19%20HIST%201120-51%20Western%20Civ%20II\"><strong>Collaboration Space &gt; Final Project Peer Review<\/strong><\/a><strong> &gt; [new page with your name as the Title]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to your communication, use the media of your choice to reflect on your final project. Be sure to address all of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A brief description of your target population<\/li><li>An explanation of why you chose this population.<\/li><li>A brief explanation of why you chose your specific communication method.<\/li><li>A brief assessment of how effective your communication will be with your target population.<\/li><li>A detailed explanation of how you decided the most important thing that your target population should understand about what you have learned.<\/li><li>A detailed reflection on the following question: Do you think it is important to think historically? Why or why not?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Turn in your Reflection in your Personal section of\nOneNote.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing\nyour Final Project, review your peers according to the criteria we determine\ncollaboratively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Turn in your Peer Review on the page in the\nCollaboration Space where your peer posted their Communication. Be sure to\ninclude your name with your Peer Review.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grading<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Final Project is\nworth 40 points. The following rubric will be used:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brainstorming (20% of Project Grade, 8 points total)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brainstorming activities completed for &#8220;What,&#8221; &#8220;Who,&#8221; and &#8220;How&#8221;\u2014<strong>4 points<\/strong><\/li><li>Brainstorming indicates student thought and effort about course materials\u2014<strong>1.6 points<\/strong><\/li><li>Brainstorming indicates student thought and effort about thinking historically\u2014<strong>2.4 points<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Communication (40% of Project Grade, 16 points total):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Clearly states the most important thing the target population should know based on what you have learned in this course; statement is presented persuasively\u2014<strong>3.2 points<\/strong><\/li><li>References specific ideas from this course to persuade target audience\u2014<strong>3.2 points<\/strong><\/li><li>References skills associated with the Course Outcomes to persuade target audience\u2014<strong>3.2 points<\/strong><\/li><li>References the 5 Cs of Historical Thinking to persuade target audience\u2014<strong>3.2 points<\/strong><\/li><li>Is appropriate to the target population and message;
