Introduction to Accessibility
Before we talk about Styles in Microsoft Word, I’d like to take a moment to explain why accessibility and universal design are important. Understanding and properly applying Styles will both enhance productivity and efficiency, while simultaneously making a document universally accessible. The video below will show you a sample document that was created on Microsoft Word in the same fashion that someone would create a document using a manual typewriter.

Styles can enhance document accessibility and useability, as long as they are applied in a logical and consistent manner. The next module will explain how all documents are structured. This structure is the roadmap for applying styles logically.
